Listening, Information and Referral

CONTACT MHC, Inc. provides our programs to callers to enhance their quality of life. We accomplish our goal of filling this need as a service to the community by:

 

  • Quarterly training community volunteers to staff our Helpline Center.
  • Calling our growing list of Reassurance Clients daily.
  • Providing Piedmont Community Services with an afterhours answering service for their clients.
  • Building and maintaining a database of local resources.
  • Being an active, kind listener to all who call our Crisis Helpline.
  • Being open and inclusive to emerging methods to increase aid to those we serve.
  • Listening to our Frequent Callers daily.

We continue to be a source of acceptance, encouragement, affirmation and information to our callers.

We are dedicated, committed and trained volunteers who listen with a caring heart, in an empathetic, nonjudgmental, accepting and affirming way. We respect every person who calls. A Crisis Line Specialist is committed to the anonymity and confidentiality of every call and every situation. We are capable, dependable, available, and we are ready to serve our community.
